Lenten Rose/Hellobores
This little honey came to us from Nebraska. That’s right it came in flowering just as you see it; It is stunning! This company is called BlueBird Nursery. I love their pun “If it grows here it will grow anywhere!” So we order from them every year. They have some things we just can’t seem to find anywhere else. Especially the prairie plants, things are drought tolerant. It’s a nice company and “Yes, we pay freight through the nose. But when you have a flavor for unusual you go to many lengths to “Just do it!”
Yesterday morning we had a few flats from one company today at 5 o’clock we had 5 orders all come in within a 4 hour period. Ya just don’t know what to expect around here. So on Monday the girls will be all fired up to plant up a storm.
If you want a little of spring fling come on down, no charge for a looky!!! ![]()

In Greenhouse #5 the fight for life begins
These little guys are trying to come alive. It’s mighty cold in there so they are brave souls. It sure looks good. I think we are all so tired of this wind but oh ya isn’t that what March is all about???
We busy trying to complete the new poly gal roof on Greenhouse # 4. It has been a long time coming. Oh the joy of no more noisy plastic or a shower when you stand in there from the morning dew. it is 90 % completed so the end is near.

1st Flowers have arrived
Got our 1st order in today. Not anything big but oh how nice to open the box and have flowers blooming. Life is good.
We are cleaning and sanitizing to beat the band. Things are looking great. We are putting a new roof on greenhouse #4 and the wind will not co-operate. So hopefully it will calm down in the next few days.
Our soil came in on Saturday so bring on the warm temperatures.

Lei for wedding!
My first attempt at a Lei for a wedding. The customers were very happy it lasted well. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
So glad to be back on board. Had some technical problems for a few months so now I hope to be hard at it for the rest of the season.
We are very busy with our fall season. Planting trees, shrubs, etc. It is the best time to plant as you don’t have to water now because the plants are dormant.
We have a 20 % off all nursery stock. Not included are the B/B evergreens. All other stock applies.
See ya soon ![]()

This our first Sunday off since the 2nd of May. So what a great blessing not to have to water outdoors. Just all the greenhouses, then off with deliveries, visit with a few friends and maybe even cut the grass. Amazing how quick it looks like a hay field !

Wisteria
This is our wisteria. We planted this baby about 15 years ago. It started blooming about 5 years ago. The first year if memory serves me well it had a total of 3 flowers. Since it has increased blooms but nothing to write home to mom about! Well this year it finally woke up! It is just beautiful. It is in the middle of a field, lots of wind, quack grass growing all over it, and never watered. I also in that same area have a butterfly bush there. Just as happy as can be. Go figure I have babied a butterfly bush by the house and nothing. Dead as a door nail, out in the field lovely. Hard to figure sometimes but I’ll take flowers any day of the week .
Well we survived the weekend. Memorial week/weekend was hard on the bodies. Our staff all pitched in ran our tails off. Thanks guys for all your help.
We now shift into summer hours. Open Monday – Saturday 9-5. Closed all Sundays. We have plenty of product to keep us going all summer. Come check us out ![]()
